I was never really active here as a poster, mostly kind of a lurker, but I have to say I also learned from this place. There were some interesting discussions that showed me at least some new perspectives I hadnt heard of before, especially by guys like GoS, Wiseman, Sativa. Like a unique blend of 'left', social, rational thinking that seems rare, too damn rare.
This is the exact atmosphere of the forum I was alluding to in my previous post. This is also exactly why I believe simply advertising or recruiting new members just might not be the answer to fixing this place. I'd much rather take 3 members who provide intelligent discussion and debate than 30 members who talk nonsense, and connect only by having listened to Dance With The Devil once with their liberal friend at Starbucks.
Like I said, I'll do anything in my power to push this place forward. I'd personally advertise, but I currently have $47.13 in my bank, and a $575 books fee coming up in the next two weeks. Paying for advertising is out of my reach, frankly. Free advertising, such as on other forums or my website has proved to be less than satisfactory, and I'm being generous with the terminology.
Free advertising (my site, other sites, IT.net shirt, etc.) failed. E-mailing members (over and over) failed. Simply hoping new members would join has failed, and continues to fail. I was under the impression that if the site was back to stable condition, veteran members would become interested and come back. I was wrong. The only other plausible remedy would be if Immortal Technique released something, anything. Sure, the .co.uk site may be some competition, but once you visit it you'll see that it isn't.
